The Ministry of Education and Science carried out a study on the results of participation of the different institutions of the system in the projects of the plan in the last six years.

The objective of this guide is to make it easier for researchers from foreign countries who go to Spain for work, scholarships, exchanges, PhDs, temporary contracts, stays, scientific missions, etc. to find information. This manual aims to answer the main questions that a researcher has when coming to our country, either alone or with their family. We have attempted to reflect the reality of work, everyday life and the particular characteristics of our country, as well as the procedures it is necessary to undergo in Spain, with special focus on the field of research.

This peer review of the policies and tools for research, development and innovation is the second review of this kind carried out by the Working Group of the OECD on Technology and Innovation Policy (TIP) in its efforts to evaluate the combination of tools and policies for research and innovation.

The Annual Work Programme of the National Plan is the mechanism for dynamically updating its content as stipulated by the Science Law, and the Interministerial Science and Technology Commission (CICYT) is responsible for preparing it. The Work Programme 2007 updates the objectives, priorities and actions of the National Plan for the corresponding year.
