“Science in the Classroom” starts in Berlin

Tuesday, April 25, 2017

The first session of the "Science in the classroom" program was held at the bilingual Berlin school "Friedensburg Oberschule" on 5th April, as a result of the collaboration of the Office of Education of the Spanish Embassy in Berlin with the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

For one hour, boys and girls from the "Spanish Language and Culture Classroom Program" (ALCE), aged between 10 and 15, listened to the science stories of the FECYT scientific coordinator at the Embassy in Berlin, Dr. Guillermo Orts-Gil, about the astronaut Pedro Duque, the particle accelerator Alba in Spain and the robots developed by Dr Jose de Gea in Bremen.

This activity is part of the FECYT action plan to reinforce activities and scientific topics within Spanish embassies abroad, such as "Science in the Classroom" in London and it complements the activities launched last year in Berlin within the program “Playing Science”.
