FECYT participates in the presentation of the Society of Spanish Researchers in France

On November 10, the public presentation of the Society of Spanish Researchers in France (SIEF) in Lyon University. Under the title "Research and society: European dimension of the activity of Spanish scientists in France", the event was attended by around 60 people, and presented the vision and mission of the association.

The meeting was opened by Mr. Joaquín Aristegui, Consul General of Spain in Lyon, Matilde Alonso, Professor at the University of Lyon and Dr. Sandra Cabeza, representing SIEF. All the participants recognized the important impulse of Juana Gil, the director of the Cervantes de Lyon institute who has contributed from the beginning to the success of the initiative.

On behalf of the FECYT, Cecilia Cabello presented the work that this public foundation develops in scientific diplomacy and internationalization of the Spanish system of science and technology that make visible the work of Spanish scientists and encourage scientific collaboration with strategic countries.

FECYT regularly collaborates with associations of Spanish scientists abroad in those activities of mutual interest such as scientific congresses and symposia, mentoring projects and European projects for the improvement of the research career, etc. In addition, FECYT facilitates the dialogue of these associations with agents of Spanish scientific policy and research.

During the meeting, several Spanish scientists participated, addressing issues of scientific relevance. Likewise, the Network of Associations of Spanish Scientists Abroad (RAICEX) and the Spanish Association for the Advancement of Science (AEAC) presented their work and projects.
