General Manager: Paloma Domingo García

Degree in Physics, specialising in Astrophysics, Complutense University of Madrid (1983), and PhD in Computer Science, Polytechnic University of Madrid (1998).

She has developed her professional career at the Charles III University of Madrid since 2002, where she was director of its Science Park and developed activities in the field of innovation, technology transfer and the creation of technology-based companies. She was later director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Service of the Charles III University.  Previously, she had worked as a computer science professor at this University.

Previously, she worked for ERITEL (Telefónica Group) as Director of Knowledge Engineering and held several positions in this company that were related to software development.
In January 2018 she was appointed Director General of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

Head of the European Office Address: Borja Izquierdo Alonso

Degree in Environmental Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid, specialising in GIS-Geographic Information Systems applied to environmental and energy management.

Between 1999 and 2007 he worked in the private sector in the European research department of ATOS Origin as an analyst for European projects (during the FP5, FP6 and FP7 Framework Programmes), eventually becoming the Head of the Geographic Information Systems and Environment Unit.

In 2007 he joined the CDTI – Centre for Industrial Technological Development - where he served as the National Representative and Head of the Spanish Delegation in the Energy Program Committee of FP7 (2009-2013). Delegate in the State Representative Group for the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (2009-2013). National expert in the European industrial initiative team of the SET Plan for intelligent networks (2009-2013). "Sherpa" for Spain in the Steering Group of the SET Plan (Strategic Energy Technology) (2011-2013).

In January 2014, he was appointed Director of the European FECYT-MINECO, Office, a public body with the main mission of promoting the participation of Spanish organizations (focused on research institutions and universities) in the European Union's Framework R&D&I Program.

In 2017 he has held the position of acting Director General on an interim basis, and since February 2018 he has simultaneously been the Director of the European Office with the Deputy Director General, supporting the coordination of the Foundation's activity.

Manager: Beatriz Alonso de la Vega

Graduated in Law at the Complutense University of Madrid, she is a specialist in Higher Accounting and Account Auditing from the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Universidad de Alcalá. She also has complementary training in business management, finance, taxation, HR and the non-profit sector.

She began her professional career in the private sector as head of the administration area. Since 1999 she has been working in the field of auditing accounts and economic-financial advice to companies and foundations, both public and private and belonging to different sectors of activity.

In 2003 she joined FECYT as Financial-Budget Coordinator, assuming the functions of Manager since 2013.

Her mission is to provide a quality and added value service to the Management, optimizing the resources of the Foundation and facilitating its work in the management of foundational projects. She manages and coordinates the execution of tasks related to financial and budgetary management, human resources, contracting and legal advice, documentation and quality management of the Foundation.
