This report provides a clear summary of the current situation of research on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) in agrifood and their health and environmental evaluation with the aim of being able to establish recommendations on their use by society. Through a rigorous consideration of this scientific framework, the Committee expressed its opinion with regard to the ethical aspects (section IV) and legal aspects (section V) that must inspire the regulation of the production, use and commercialisation of these products by public administrations. FECYT’s Ethics Advisory Committee in Scientific and Technical Research is responsible for the content of this report.
